1st Visitors day at Dance Class!

For those of you that don't know, Bryawna LOVES to dance! We enrolled her in a ballet/tap/tumbling class this fall! Unfortunately for us parents, they only allow visitors to watch once per month. Her coordination IS improving! She is such a joy to watch! What a free spirit she is!!!!

Swimming Lessons!

Today Bryawna completed her 2 full weeks of swimming lessons! The first day was June 7th and she would not even put her face in the water! Her hair was dry! She is fearless with her floaties on! We just couldn't convince her to take them off at home! She made AMAZING progress! We are sooooo proud of her courage and determination! The video shows her swimming across the deep end (13 feet deep) and guess who won the race????

1st Mani-Pedi!

Bryawna has been begging for weeks now for me to paint her finger & toe nails! We finally had a quiet evening where I thought she might be able to be still enough! She did great! She chose the color and held soooo still! She is so excited and can't wait to show it off tomorrow!

Bryawna Turned 3 & We Had Tea!

Bryawna turned 3 in January and we celebrated with a Garden Tea Party!

What a great theme for a January birthday right? Well sure if you are planning to have the party indoors - like a sunroom! I had it all planned out... and then it began to rain... and then the ice came... the power went out... and then it snowed... a lot! The roads were a mess, my family barely made it from CA (literally they were the last flight allowed to land)! BUT, being the devoted mother I am, the show must go on right? So- despite the simulated raining inside our sunroom from the melting ice/snow on the roof and with the help of a couple of outdoor heaters (thanks to my precious husband) the Garden Tea Party went off without a hitch! Bryawna even got her much desired "Pink Puppy Dog Cake!" That's what she wanted, so we had a pink puppy dog in a garden for a cake! We had a great time and we have a whole lot of great memories! Thanks to all my family for helping make this a great day for Bryawna and her friends!

Cruisin' With My Homegirls in a Pink Escalade!

While we were waiting for dinner to cook, we let the girls cruise the neighborhood! Look out world!

Here they come!!!

9-2009 Cotton Country Sprint Triathlon

Our Triathletes!
In September Barnard, Aaron, and Jim competed in a sprint triathlon! This was a first for all of them! The race began with a 3 mile run, a 13 mile bike ride, and finished with a 300 meter swim! The training took a lot of time outside of work and home, but they all did great! Amy, Kelli, and I grabbed the kids and we all cheered for the Papas!!! Afterwards we went out for some yummy Mexican food at a local family owned restaurant!

JUMP!

Okay, I haven't been able to do this yet, so I am going to attempt to post a video on my blog! So I apologize in advance if it doesn't work! So turn up your volume and let's hope for the best!
Here is the explanation of this video...
At the tailgate party with our church, all the kids left and Bryawna was the last one. So, being an only child, she began entertaining herself! She began jumping off the curb right next to us and jumping as high and as far as she possibly could! After each jump she would proudly get our attention to see how well she had done! Well, it didn't take long for her Papa to join in the fun and take it to another level! Barnard began jumping off the curb with her and told her when she did, she should yell, "JUMP!" So she did. Then he showed her how to hold her hand up in the air and point while jumping and saying, "JUMP!" Just like David Lee Roth! They did this for quite some time and each jump was better than the last!
A day or two later, Barnard told Bryawna he had a surprise for her when she woke up from her nap. When she awoke, he led her into the living room (we have no furniture in there) and turned on the stereo... He had downloaded the song from the internet and they began jumping together for the entirety of the song!
It is moments like this that warm a mother's heart! I am so blessed to have such an amazing child and equally, if not more, blessed to have such a remarkable husband!
